FourthWall Media's EBIF-Based Ad Widgets System Deployed by Puerto Rico's OneLink
By Tracy Swedlow

FourthWall Media, the interactive TV technology company formerly known as BIAP, has announced that the OneLink San Juan cable system in Puerto Rico has deployed its Ad Widgets advanced advertising system across its digital subscriber base. The Ad Widgets system is based on the EBIF, SaFI and SCTE-130 specs. OneLink previously deployed FourthWall's EBIF platform to support a selection of the company's TV Widgets. "When a commercial runs, digital OneLink subscribers will see an on-screen prompt," FourthWall explains in its press materials. "With the simple push of a button on their standard cable remote, viewers can request more information, find out more about the product or service, hit Click-to-Call for immediate merchant contact, and enable other exciting features." According to FourthWall CEO, Time Peters, "the Ad Widgets Manager guides media sales personnel through simple forms where they input an order and select options that automatically bind proven applications to the appropriate commercials making them interactive"; then "once these spots run, the same ad sales people can view usage data through easy Web-based reporting." FourthWall also says it is expanding its Ad Widgets line-up to include VOD telescoping, and claims that Ad Widgets allows advertisers to make their interactive overlays addressable.
