Bind
After the Ad Widget has been created and targeted, it is bound to the appropriate TV commercial. Because the two assets are bound, there is no need to worry about time synching – interactivity is packaged with the commercial when it is delivered to the viewer. So when the commercial airs, the EBIF User Agent on the set-top box recognizes there is interactivity attached and automatically displays the Ad Widgets features on screen.
When the TV commercial is scheduled to air, it is inserted into the video stream via existing operator methods and the bound Ad Widget spot is delivered to the audience. Viewers see the on-screen billboard or interactive prompts, and they can choose to engage with the marketer’s interactive TV ad.
By simply using their remote controls, viewers can easily:
- request more information;
- learn more about the product or service by watching a long-form video ad; and, ultimately,
- Buy the product.
While the consumer engages and interacts, the Ad Widgets System is busy collecting data for analysis and insights managed through the Report function.
