Device Profiles Preserve Privacy While Delivering Customized Experiences

Dulles, VA: Sept. 25 – FourthWall Media® (FWM), the largest independent source of cable set-top box viewing data, announced today that the U.S. Patent office has approved a patent for their broadband device personalization technology.  This technology utilizes proprietary methods to analyze consumer on-device behaviors.  It stores individual viewer profile data only on the consumer’s television or mobile device where it remains for future use in advertising and content delivery.

In the most privacy-preserving manner, it informs targeted advertising technology which commercial to run, which overlay to display, or which personalized content would be preferred.  This personalization technology was designed for use in FourthWall’s Ad Widgets® interactive advertising platform.

Recently FourthWall Media received a patent (number 8,549,576) for its Dynamic Application Insertion Technology.  Through this technology, targeting data and applications are embedded directly in the video stream, which deliver greater campaign agility to television advertisers and allow viewers to have commercials served to them more closely aligned with their interests and purchasing tendencies.
